Many a times, most people think God will bring their lovers straight to them. Others think God will change their partners to become what they want because they are God sent and will make a perfect match.
It is very heartbreaking that people who aren’t Christians record low divorce cases than Christians. The reason being that, the non-Christians always either overlook the bad side or work towards it together but Christians turn it into prayers and spiritual consultation.
One thing we must notice is, God has given us the intelligence to choose a partner. The hard truth is, God doesn't choose a partner for us. Instead of doing due diligence in searching for a partner, people take their lover's name to their pastors to investigate spiritually for them if they will make a perfect couple. Many pastors have aborted the plans of marriage by some of their congregation all in the name of spirituality. What we forget is, pastors also have challenges in their marriages. There are a lot of pastors who are always divorcing their wives day after day.
God has given us the wisdom to choose the people we want to marry. In making the choice, we should always try and make sure these people are the kind who will help us to achieve our relationship goals. Stop assuming things will change. Stop assuming God will change them. If you are dating a man and he is always beating you, bear it in mind that, he will still beat you after you marry him. God has nothing to do with this. Stop choosing the wrong people. Wrong people will always be wrong people. People change if they meet people they love. If they are not changing, just move on and keep searching.
What you must always keep in mind is, whatever you are seeing in your partner today, will be the same and even increase when you marry them.
I am not saying stop praying for your partners but what I want to bring to your notice is to know that, character will always be character so choose wisely.
